The Senior Accountant I position is a full-time position located in Fresno, CA and is expected to possess excellent knowledge of financial accounting principles and demonstrate professional verbal, interpersonal, and written skills. This position will be responsible for performing various financial and accounting tasks, with an emphasis on GAAP compliance, cost accounting and other monthly financial reporting and analysis.

Essential Job Duties:

• Prepare monthly journal entries to ensure accounting records are in compliance with GAAP.
• Review and advise on new and existing tax positions for areas including federal, state, local, payroll, sales, use, property, and other tax jurisdictions/types.
• Prepare PBC items for annual income tax provision completed by external tax preparers.
• Manage and review federal, state, and local business filings and registrations including preparation of sales and use returns and property tax statements.
• Review standard costings at item, product line, and site levels for accuracy.
• Prepare monthly reconciliations for various balance sheet accounts including variance analysis identifying areas of risk and opportunities where required.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and by item profit & loss reports.
• Prepare information as required by external auditors to support annual audit, including inventory testing procedures.
Ancillary Job Duties:

• Assist in preparing and reviewing monthly financial statements.
• Assist in preparation of monthly financial reports for the Board of Directors.
• Provide and support the implementation of business solutions to increase accuracy, minimize risk or realize efficiencies.
• Can understand, manage and document systems, operations, accounting principles, business processes and workflows for a business.
• Understand manufacturing operations to help facilitate the creation of item product structures and ensure the accuracy of standard cost inputs including labor, packaging materials, yields, and plant overhead.
• Other financial/accounting analysis and duties to support the Company as required.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
• Minimum - B.S. in Accounting or Finance
• 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Intermediate knowledge of accounting principles and U.S. GAAP. This includes the ability to apply these principles and determine compliance, as well as a good understanding of cost accounting or previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Advanced Financial Analysis: The ability to analyze financial data (e.g., validity of data including balance sheet accounts, profit and loss variances, volume trends, return on investments). This includes producing spreadsheets, qualitatively describing variances, identifying issues, and making appropriate recommendations.
• Expert in MSO365 including Excel skills (Vlookups and pivot tables).
• Ability to assess current controls to ensure that assets are safeguarded and that transactions are authorized, recorded, and reported. This may include designing and implementing cost-effective systems and procedures properly.
• Strong partnership and collaborative style with outstanding communication skills: written, verbal and presentation.
• Ability to handle/coordinate/complete numerous complex tasks simultaneously.
• Self-starter able to identify, plan, and execute tasks with minimal guidance.
• Strong work ethic, and hands-on attitude. Good team player with a positive outlook
Certifications:
• CPA/MBA/CMA preferred
Salary : $70,000 - $80,000
