The Machinists shall be responsible for:
- Review samples, drawings or instructions to understand specifications of output.
- Take measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping.
- Select appropriate machines (e.g. lathes) and position or load material for a job.
- Monitor machine while working to adjust the feed, maintain temperature and identify issues.
- Assists in overhauling, rebuilding and maintaining equipment.?
- Assist in performing all phases of maintenance (i.e., fabricating, welding, and troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and performing required preventative maintenance.
- Candidates must be able to operate and maintain equipment properly by following directions.
- Ability to move roughly 50 to 75 pounds and remain stationary throughout a shift.

- Ability to plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job.
- Familiarity with Computer Numerical Control (CNC) software and machinery used for computer-aided manufacturing (Not required but a plus)
- Experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (lathes, mills etc.)
- Ability to use precision tools (e.g. calipers) to take accurate measurements.
- Knowledge of the properties of metal and other material
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals.
- Good at math with analytical abilities
- Knowledge of how to safely operate bandsaws, lathes and milling machines.
- Ability to take precise measurements and make calculations.
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
- Lockout/tag out procedures and follow all OSHA and company policies and best practices.
- Must have basic mechanical skills, and the ability to work with basic hand tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair equipment.
- Good problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability and desire to work up to higher level maintenance position.
- Completion of vocational training or on the job experience
- Proven experience as a machinist
