JOB TITLE: Bartender
DEPARTMENT: Bar and Grill
HOURS: Variable
JOB SUMMARY:
Mix and serve beverages for guests, to provide exceptional service, to maintain a clean, organized service area, and ensure adherence to all regulations, (i.e. check ID for age if in question). Determine consumption limits prior to intoxication of guest. To oversee productivity of bar staff and enforce bar policies. Have a working knowledge of Lodge features and events and be able to share them with guests.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES OR FUNCTIONS:
- Extend ‘Gracious Hospitality’ to each and every guest at all times, always taking care of their needs to the best of your ability.
- Monitor limitation of alcohol service according to Washington State Liquor Control Board.
- Familiarity with wine list, and special pricing.
- Take orders, prepare, and serve in proper glassware, stemware and deliver in a timely and polite fashion.
- Count and record bank at beginning and end of each shift; keep log updated.
- Secure all entry & exits prior to leaving the bar for the evening.
- Execute all cash register functions and cash out procedures.
- Close down all computers prior to leaving the bar for the evening.
- Deliver all room charge tickets to the Front Desk for posting at end of shift.
- Update all daily tracking sheets and assist in periodic inventories as needed.
- Document all breakage.
- Other duties as assigned.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Have excellent mixology skills and knowledge of liquors and wines. Have a good understanding of state liquor laws. Demonstrate leadership and professionalism at all times.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be over 21 years of age; have a minimum of two years’ experience in the restaurant industry; present self professionally; possess strong communications skills; be customer oriented; be a team player; have the ability to stay calm and professional under any situation and/or circumstance; be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds while negotiating stairs and moving quickly; possess manual dexterity and coordination; be comfortable with constant walking, reaching, standing and lifting; have a current Washington State Food Handlers permit; have a current Alcohol Servers Permit.
