What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Project Manager position at Sun Nuclear?
The Manufacturing Project Manager is responsible for leading a variety of Sun Nuclear manufacturing projects. This includes planning, validation and manufacturing transfer of new product introductions from engineering to manufacturing.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Manage and direct day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of no less than 3 projects including but not limited to:
- Drive the technical industrialization of new products, including technical feedback to guide new designs, requirements and testing and feedback to suppliers on manufacturing processes
- Lead problem solving teams for technical issues to ensure best possible solutions
- Work with engineering teams and contribute to DfX reviews on complex electro-mechanical products
- Act as a contributor in discussions between CMS, sub-suppliers and engineering
- Create, monitor, and manage project plans, project risks/mitigations, and resource requirements
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing or Quality Engineering
- 5 years’ experience in project management focusing on manufacturing
- Previous track record of organizing, and transferring to manufacturing small to medium size development projects
- Experience with a Phase Gate Design Process
- Experience in DfX
- Ability to influence engineering and operations professionals
- Strong interpersonal skills, and superior organizational abilities
- Work well within a team environment and across multiple functions
- Ability to take initiative, and to meet deadlines under pressure
