What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supply and Operations Planning Leader (S&OP) position at Sun Recruiting - The Chemical Specialists?
Company Overview:
This is a relatively small company but the products they make are critical, not only in the private sector but also for the US Government. This is a newly created role that represents an expansion of what used to be a demand planner role; they didn't feel that they had anyone internally who had the horsepower for this position and that's why they are looking externally. This role will report to the Supply Chain Director - someone who works hard to develop the people on her team and to build their skillsets.
What you will be doing:
One of the first priorities this person will have in integrating sales forecasts and data into SAP - this information is not currently automated and so it's critical that this person have proficiency in SAP. In addition to that work with sales forecasting, this person will work with personnel at the plants to plan production and will also oversee inventory management.
Minimum Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in Supply Chain Management or some closely related field
- At least 5 years of supply chain work with at least 3 years in the chemical processing industry
- Must be proficient in SAP, powerpoint and excel
- Must possess excellent communication skills - and be able to work up and down the org chart
- Ideally this person would have International experience, but that is not a must-have
This is an individual contributor role for now. This role will ideally be based in Houston; it's possible they will consider a remote arrangement for someone who is highly skilled

Salary : $100,000 - $120,000
