Position Overview:
Sun River Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to join our team at our Church Ave. site in Brooklyn, NY. In this full-time role, you will provide comprehensive care to women, with an emphasis on preventative health, patient education, and overall reproductive health. You will collaborate with physicians for high-risk patients and will be responsible for planning, evaluating, and delivering healthcare services in line with Sun River Health's mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Provide care for women throughout their reproductive health journey, including taking histories, performing physical exams, and prescribing treatments as appropriate within the scope of midwifery practice.
- Labor & Delivery: In consultation with physicians, manage labor and delivery, perform deliveries, and provide on-call and hospital coverage when required.
- Preventative Care & Education: Focus on prevention, patient education, and health promotion, offering counseling on contraception, prenatal care, and postnatal support.
- Collaboration with Physicians: Work closely with physicians for the management of high-risk pregnancies and other complex care needs.
- Quality Assurance & Program Development: Participate in quality assurance activities such as medical record reviews, performance audits, and focused reviews. Help develop and implement preventive care standards and diagnostic screening programs.
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate and legible documentation of patient care and ensure all practices comply with regulatory requirements, including OSHA standards and infection control protocols.
- Clinical Leadership: Supervise nursing personnel in the department, reviewing protocols, telephone triage, and follow-up procedures.
- Professional Development: Attend continuing education programs, complete annual CME requirements, and stay current with evidence-based practices in midwifery.

Salary Range: $151,768.50 - $157,306.50 annually (based on experience and licensure)
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
- Education: Master’s degree in Nurse Midwifery from an accredited program.
- Licensure/Certification: Certification by the American College of Nurse Midwifery (ACNM) and licensure to practice as a Certified Nurse Midwife in New York State.
- Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a clinical setting, with a focus on women's health and midwifery care.
- Preferred Experience: Experience working in an FQHC or similar underserved community setting is a plus.
- Skills:
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.
- Strong clinical knowledge in midwifery, including preventive care and treatment protocols.
- Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care in a collaborative team environment.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to follow established protocols and engage in evidence-based practice.
