About the Role
Sun River Health is seeking a skilled and dedicated Dentist to join our team at our Monticello, NY site. As a key member of our dental team, you will provide high-quality dental care to patients, ensuring their oral health needs are met with compassion and expertise.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Oversee the dental team at the site, ensuring efficient operations and effective communication.
- Diagnose and treat diseases, injuries, and malformations of teeth and gums, using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques.
- Perform root canal therapy on anterior teeth and other teeth within your skill set, prioritizing patient comfort and safety.
- Review findings from full mouth periodontal exams to diagnose perio disease and design treatment plans, collaborating with colleagues as needed.
- Take impressions and models of jaws and teeth in preparation for dentures and crowns, ensuring accurate fits and optimal results.
- Consult with heads of other patient care services to plan coordinated dental treatment, addressing behavioral, medical, and other concerns.
- Extract infected or diseased teeth, taking necessary precautions to prevent complications and ensure patient comfort.
- Provide preventive dentistry counseling, guiding patients on nutritional status, oral hygiene habits, and other essential aspects of oral health.
- Locate and repair cavities in teeth, using discussion of findings with dental radiographs to formulate treatment plans.
- Conduct thorough examinations of patients' teeth, gums, and surrounding structures, utilizing diagnostic aids like dental radiographic images, periodontal probes, and other instruments.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Dental Science (BDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD)
- New York State License to practice as a Dentist
- CPR/BLS Certification
- Prior experience in dental care, preferably in a primary healthcare setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse patients and colleagues
