Position Overview
Sun River Health is currently seeking a motivated and compassionate Full-Time Dental Hygienist to join our dental team in Long Island, NY, at our Elise Owens location. Under the general supervision of a dentist, you will be responsible for providing essential oral hygiene services, education, and preventative care to adult and pediatric patients. You will work closely with patients to educate them on proper oral hygiene techniques and contribute to their overall health and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine dental cleanings, including removing plaque, stains, and tartar from the teeth.
- Provide dental prophylaxes, full mouth debridement, topical fluoride treatments, and dental sealants to patients.
- Take and expose X-rays as needed, under the direction of the supervising dentist.
- Conduct full mouth periodontal charting to assist in developing treatment plans, including scaling and root planing.
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices, tobacco cessation, nutritional counseling, and the importance of maintaining good oral health.
- Conduct visual oral health screenings for HeadStart and ABCD programs.
- Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for each patient.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program.
- Valid New York State license to practice as a dental hygienist.
- CPR Certification.
- Valid NYS driver’s license.
- 0-4 years of experience in a dental hygiene role.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (orally and written) preferred.
Salary Range
$87,760.40 - $93,020.20 annually (pro-rated based on hours).
