Summary
Sun & Ski Sports is a looking for a Warehouse Receiving Associate. The General Warehouse Receiving Associate is responsible for handling material for the purpose of accurate shipping, packing (processing), and receiving. This will include but not limited to scanning, unloading, loading, moving, staging, locating, relocating, stacking, and operating power equipment. The associate will conduct operations in a manner which promotes safety.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support the DC leadership with daily operations.
- Process from the dock to shipping all merchandise coming into the building from vendors accurately and promptly.
- Check, verify and audit merchandise to ensure that ordered merchandise has been received; to ensure that merchandise is not damaged, defective or short.
- Can resolve problems, research discrepancies and report out to the supervisor.
- Identify, separate, label, and palletize merchandise to enable merchandise to be relocated to appropriate areas in the Distribution Center.
- Record receiving, packing and shipping data using a handheld device.
- Prepare merchandise for shipment; stack cartons from conveyor belt to pallets.
- Utilize manual pallet jack to move pallets into proper staging areas.
- Interacts with Buyers, other corporate associates, delivery drivers and management.
- Enters PO numbers and FB numbers into the AS400, the check in for ASN and Non-ASN shipments, make copies and alert management of discrepancies and maintains great paperwork.
- Delivers packages/letters to the corporate office daily.
- This position will comply with OSHA and MSDS Standards.

Requirements:
- High school education / GED.
- 1-2 years of experience in Distribution Operations/Warehouse preferred.
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and handheld devices (RF) preferred.
- Basic math and reasoning skills.
- Must have physical capabilities to work in a warehouse.
- Must have computer knowledge and the ability to use AS400, email and other tools.
- Experience in fast-paced, high volume retail Distribution Center environment preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, standard operating procedure, and process manuals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- English or Bilingual preferred.
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Able to move up to 50lbs unassisted or team lift.
- Able to unload a truckload by pallet jack by oneself.
- Able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
- Ability to stand, walk, pull, push, stoop, and/or crawl throughout the entire shift.

The facility is not air-conditioned, so the employee must be able to tolerate conditions associated with no air conditioning or heat.
Work Areas:
Receiving: Use of a pallet Jack, lifting heavy boxes, unloading truckloads, containers, LTL and
small parcel shipments.
Flat line: Opening cartons, pricing, use of a RF Gun, Tablet, placing sensors on merchandise and the ability to count. Loading of Cartons on lines.
Picking: Ability to use a RF Gun, Read, count lift boxes, and work upstairs on our mezzanine.
Shipping: Loading of trucks, lifting, and stacking boxes and ability to shrink wrap the pallets.
