What we are looking for

A Director of Customer Financing is a senior-level position responsible for overseeing all aspects of Sun Solar customer financing operations, including managing credit lines, loan approvals, collections, and customer payment plans, with a primary focus on maximizing profitability while maintaining positive customer relationships.

In this job you will oversee incoming credit applications, running credit reports and analyzing debt to income ratios and other attributes to determine if customers meet the lending guidelines, then approving or denying applicants. Some customers may require additional documentation and will require phone calls or emails to request the items needed. You will also be required to file UCC agreements online or by mail with the state and/or counties where the customer resides. Registration of manufacturers products and extended warranties will be required along with various reports due weekly.

You will be responsible for

Department Manager: Maintains financial security by following internal controls. Understanding of filing UCC documents with the correct legal jurisdiction.

Credit evaluation and risk management: Assessing creditworthiness of potential customers, setting credit limits, and monitoring customer credit risk. Analyze customers current financial status by collecting customer information.

Loan structuring and approval: Designing customized financing options for customers based on their needs and financial situation, including loan terms, interest rates, and repayment schedules.

Collections and debt recovery: Implementing strategies to collect overdue payments and manage accounts receivable, including working with collections agencies when necessary.

Customer relationship management: Building strong relationships with the sales team and customers, addressing concerns regarding payment plans, and providing excellent customer service. Communicate with sales team and customers in a professional manner.

Financial reporting and analysis: Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) related to customer financing, generating financial reports, and identifying areas for improvement.

Compliance management: Ensuring adherence to all relevant lending regulations and compliance standards.

Team leadership and development: Working with accounting, collections specialists, and other customer financing staff.

Sales force training: Conduct sales training and ensure that the sales team understands financing products.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College degree with financial skillset.
  • 3 experience in finance industry or similar industry.
  • Strong understanding of accounting, finance, and management principles.
  • Exceptional math skills.
  • Ability to learn lending software, CRM and Microsoft products
  • Portfolio servicing exp a plus
