Sr. Software Engineer

Job Summary:
The Sr Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing system software to improve performance, efficiency, and reliability. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve engineering challenges, support product development, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.  This position will include development, sustainment, analysis, and prototyping. 

 
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

·        Design, analyze, and develop code in a programmable language to meet performance and reliability requirements (Java, C , Python, etc).

·        Trouble shoot, update, debug, and translate legacy code.

·        Use various OS systems including but not limited to Windows and Linux.

·        Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to support production and ensure design manufacturability and robust system software.

·        Follow company quality and safety standards 

·        Lead or contribute to research and development initiatives, including prototyping and testing new concepts.

·        Develop and maintain technical documentation, including specifications, reports, and drawings.

·        Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.

·        Support new product introduction and continuous improvement initiatives.

·        Participate in cross-functional teams to address technical challenges and support business objectives.

·        Performs other duties as assigned.

 
Required Skills/Abilities:
·        Must be a U.S. citizen and meet any other federal program requirements.

·        Ability to obtain a CAC Card; Secret clearance a plus.

·        Knowledge of canbus system integration a plus

·        GUI development a plus

·        Understanding of industry standards and regulations, such as ASME, ISO, and MIL-STD.

·        Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical abilities.

·        Strong hands on prototyping skills

·        Strong verbal and written communication skills.

·        Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

·        Ability to troubleshoot and analyze design issues both in prototyping and production environments.

·        Ability to travel to customer sites to support technical training, demos, and/or product support

Education and Experience:
·        Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field is required.

·        Will consider non-degreed, if relevant work experience acceptable to meet job qualifications

·        5-7 years of experience, with a focus on design, development, or manufacturing.
