Summary:
Sun Theory is seeking dynamic and results-driven Customer Success Associates (CSAs) to join our Missouri team, with open roles in St. Louis, Kansas City, and Springfield. The CSA will be instrumental in driving sell-through and enhancing brand visibility by increasing velocity and strengthening account relationships. Key responsibilities include engaging and training budtenders, overseeing incentive programs, hosting pop-ups, and optimizing in-store merchandising. Reporting to the VP of Sales, this individual will serve as the face of Sun Theory, representing our portfolio of premium cannabis products to licensed retailers across Missouri.
Key Responsibilities:
Account Engagement & Sales Performance
- Build and nurture relationships with key retail accounts, driving reorder rates and overall sales velocity.
- Act as the go-to resource for budtenders and retail staff, providing education on Sun Theory’s product portfolio and value propositions.
Budtender Engagement & Training
- Conduct regular training sessions for budtenders and retail staff, ensuring product knowledge and enthusiasm.
- Develop and implement incentive programs to increase budtender engagement and advocacy for Sun Theory products.
In-Store Activations
- Plan and execute successful pop-up events and promotions to drive foot traffic and product trial.
- Manage activation logistics, ensuring seamless execution and a positive customer experience.
Trade-Facing Activations
- Plan and execute out-of-store activations, including budtender engagement happy hours and other trade-focused events, to deepen relationships and increase brand visibility.
Merchandising Excellence
- Maintain and optimize in-store merchandising to ensure Sun Theory products are positioned for maximum visibility and appeal.
- Monitor and report on merchandising compliance, recommending improvements as needed.
Market Insights & Reporting
- Gather and share market insights, customer feedback, and competitive intelligence with internal teams.
- Provide timely and accurate reports on KPIs, successes, and areas for improvement.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in sales, account management, or customer success, preferably within the cannabis, CPG, or other regulated industries.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to engage and motivate retail staff and teams.
- Demonstrated ability to drive results in a competitive, fast-paced environment.
- Proven track record in achieving sales targets, expanding distribution, and building strong account relationships.
- Proficient in leveraging data and insights to assess performance and adjust strategies.
- Experience with sales tools and CRM systems (e.g., LeafLink) is a plus.
- Familiarity with Missouri’s cannabis regulations is preferred.
- Missouri resident at least 21 years of age.
- This is a field-based role, requiring 80% of time spent in market, visiting accounts and engaging directly with customers.
- A working car is required to travel locally and support accounts within the assigned region.
