POSITION SUMMARY The Associate Music Director supports the quality and musical direction of worship services by supporting the Music Director, providing hands-on leadership in key areas, and fostering the growth and development of musicians at Sun Valley Community Church (SVCC). In all actions, this role reflects the SVCC team leadership distinctives. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Recruit, train, and retain musicians focusing on skill-building, team culture, and spiritualgrowth. 2. Collaborate with the Central Music Team and Worship Directors at individual campuses to foster creativity and innovation in worship experiences. 3. Lead band rehearsals, focusing on preparation, musical direction, and execution centrally and at assigned campuses, as needed. 4. Facilitate coaching and mentorship of musicians at campuses to ensure alignment with SVCC’s musical style and standards. 5. Develop original arrangements and adaptations of new and existing music for unique elements as needed. 6. Assist and create music resources as needed. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or equivalent and earned degrees and/or other training that has equipped them for the duties of the role. Two years of full-time experience in a church of 1,000 in a similar role Possess the musical, technical, and leadership ability to lead worship effectively in the context of SVCC. Demonstrates spiritual maturity and character consistent with the Biblical requirements for church leadership. Effective relational skills; proficiency in communication skills, both verbal and written Self-motivated, self-directed requiring minimal supervision Teamwork orientation with ability to recruit, train, shepherd, lead, and motivate others. Agrees and aligns with the mission, vision, leadership distinctives, and doctrinal statement of SVCC. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Three years of related experience Posting Created: Apr-21-2022
