What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Payable Clerk position at Sun Valley Resort?
We seek a talented, motivated individual to join our company as an Accounts Payable Clerk. As part of our team, you will process accounts payable invoices and payments while ensuring adherence to guidelines, controls, and company policies around accounts payable. The right person will leverage your strong interpersonal skills to maintain good working relationships with managers. Since you will support the month-end closing processes within the accounting team, you must be apt at managing multiple tasks and willing to take on new ones. Our ideal candidate has data entry experience, can pay close attention to detail, and has excellent written and verbal communication skills—knowledge of Coupa is a plus.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Verifying invoices for accuracy and completeness
- Processing payments to vendors
- Reconciling accounts payable statements monthly
- Researching and resolving invoice discrepancies and issues
- Generating periodic reports related to accounts payable
- Responding to inquiries from vendors and internal staff
- Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Prior professional experience in an accounting environment
- Close familiarity with accounts payable procedures, including a solid understanding of sales/use tax policies
- Strong computer proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Coupa experience preferred but not required
- High level of accuracy and efficiency
- Ethical behavior when dealing with sensitive financial information
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- High school diploma or GED certificate
