What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bartender (Summer 2025) position at Sun Valley Resort?
The Sun Valley Resort bartenders oversee bar operations and prepare and present alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages to guests. This position is for winter operations. Bartenders oversee all bar operations and alcoholic and nonalcoholic drink orders at Village Station, Duchin Lounge, The Ram Lobby Lounge, River Run Day Lodge, Warm Springs Day Lodge, Seattle Ridge Day Lodge, and Roundhouse Restaurant.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Open and close the bar, collect and count the bank from the Cashier’s Office, prepare the bar for operation, and stock enough various beverages to meet the needs of the shift
- Fill ice containers if no ice machine is present, and maintain a clean, neat, safe bar and lounge area
- Prepare and serve drinks to guests
- Learn and perfect the creation of the Sun Valley specialty cocktails
- Ring beverage sales onto tab or pay-by-the-drink and make proper changes when needed
- Discontinue service when deemed appropriate
- Attend any training appropriate to maintain knowledge of regulations and techniques concerning consuming and serving alcoholic beverages
- Properly account for gratuities received
- Wash used glasses and other items during shift and after or deliver them to the kitchen/dish-washing area
- Arrange bottles and glasses to make an attractive display
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years experience in the Food and Beverage industry
- At least 21 years old is required
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods is required
- Attention to detail
- Possess a friendly, cheerful, proactive, and helpful attitude
- Ability to follow directions
- Engage in physical activities like walking, and utilizing hands for tasks that involve gripping, handling, poking, and reaching
- Can safely lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
