What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lift Operator (Summer 2025) position at Sun Valley Resort?
The Sun Valley Summer Lift Operator is responsible for safely loading and unloading guests of all ages and abilities using our chairlifts. As a member of the lift department team, the lift operator will provide exceptional service for our guests during their visit.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Load and unload mountain bikes for guests
- Able to work independently or in a small group to accomplish daily job-related tasks
- Complete pre-operational procedures and inspections
- Anticipate guests’ needs and provide service above and beyond guests' expectations
- Remain alert for guests improperly loading and unloading the lifts
- Assist with completing lift-closing procedures
- Work with all mountain departments respectfully to assist and resolve issues that could arise during the operations
Qualifications:
- Completion of the Sun Valley lift department/lift operator training
- At least 18 years old is required
- The ability to read and speak English fluently is mandatory
- Can work outdoors in various weather elements (rain, sun, heat, cold, snow, etc.)
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and early mornings (6 a.m.)
- Ability to work through the entire summer season
- Can safely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
