What are the responsibilities and job description for the Restaurant Host position at Sun Valley Resort?
A Restaurant Host welcomes guests in a warm and friendly manner, creating a positive and memorable experience. The Host is responsible for receiving and recording dining reservations on the telephone, and ensuring the proper setting up of dining and service areas. A Host also politely requests guests to wait in the waiting area if no table is available, monitoring the restaurant for open sections and tables, estimating wait times, and ensuring that the guests are comfortable while waiting for a table.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Greet and seat guests in a courteous and friendly manner upon arrival according to their needs and desires
- Assist restaurant staff with other tasks such as bussing, clearing tables, cleaning, and restocking napkins
- Ensure appropriate supplies are necessary
- Record and monitor reservations
- Perform cashier duties as required
- Present menus, make recommendations, and occasionally take orders
- Other duties to be assigned
Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Engage in physical activities like standing for long periods, walking, and utilizing hands for tasks that involve gripping, handling, poking, and reaching
- Can safely lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
