What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ski Tune and Repair Technician position at Sun Valley Resort?
The Ski Tuner assembles and maintains new and existing rental fleets by performing the following duties: afternoons into the evening until all skis are tuned. Workers working four or more shifts a week get a free season pass.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Operate machinery for tuning ski/snowboard equipment
- Maintain the quality of the rental fleet
- Services customer’s ski/snowboard equipment by performing repairs and general tunings to customer skis and snowboards
- Work with customers to ensure the best possible repair service
- Complete necessary documentation and paperwork accurately
- Adhere to all area and industry procedures and regulations
- Keep knowledge and skills up-to-date with current trends and practices
- Follow safety procedures when using tools and equipment
- Responsible for cleaning ski tuning machinery and shop area daily
- Provide exemplary customer service to all customers and employees
- Other shop duties may be assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- 1 to 3 months of related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Engage in physical activities like standing for long periods, walking, and utilizing hands for tasks that involve gripping, handling, poking, and reaching
