What are the responsibilities and job description for the Village Station Restaurant Manager position at Sun Valley Resort?
The Village Station Restaurant Manager oversees and coordinates all aspects of the Village Station Restaurant at the Sun Valley Village according to Company standards to ensure a pleasurable dining experience for our guests. The Village Station is the busiest year-round restaurant in Sun Valley. It's as casual and comfortable as a favorite neighborhood restaurant; Village Station combines freshly prepared Italian-inspired cuisine, a wide selection of beers on tap, and a relaxing family atmosphere.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Schedule staff according to reservations, hotel occupancy, and/or forecast skier visits
- Track daily labor and maintain timekeeping using Kronos
- Order products and supplies for FOH
- Train staff with the proper technique of Sun Valley Resort Service Standards
- Manage all restaurant services and ensure the guests' needs are taken care of professionally and graciously
- Communicate clearly and professionally and cooperate with the dining room staff and the chef on duty, including sharing menu and reservation updates and ordering linens and additional supplies
- Address complaints and resolve problems
Qualifications:
- Extended knowledge of and experience with restaurants
- Possess knowledge of wines and how best to serve them, including appropriate pairings
- Minimum of 3 years of managerial/supervisory experience
- Minimum of 5 years of practical restaurant service experience
- Knowledge of daily financial aspects of restaurant management
- Excellent customer service and supervisory skills
- A degree in a related field is preferred
- Able to work in a noisy atmosphere
- Engage in physical activities like standing for long periods, walking, and utilizing hands for tasks that involve gripping, handling, poking, and reaching
