The Senior Director of Business Development – Co-Ops and Municipalities is a leadership role responsible for creating, expanding, and managing strategic business relationships with key utility customers, partners, and vendors. The successful candidate leads and oversees the development of new business opportunities and growth initiatives personally as well as through a small team. This position identifies and capitalizes on potential new markets and products. The VP will work with their EVP and regional facility directors to provide strategic guidance and direction for growth initiatives to the executive team.

- Lead, mentor and coach a small team of sales team members to grow revenue and drive cross-selling business relationships.
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote and differentiate the company’s products and services
- Develop and execute strategies to expand the business, increase revenue, and achieve strategic objectives
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and vendors
- Identify potential new markets and products and develop strategies to capitalize on them
- Lead cross-functional teams to develop and execute new initiatives
- Analyze customer needs and develop solutions to meet those needs
- Monitor and analyze industry trends and competitive landscape
- Provide strategic guidance for their sales team and direction to the executive team
- Build relationships with customers to ensure customer expectations are met.
- Collaborate with internal departments and provide information so that customer needs and expectations are understood and achieved.
- Track and monitor customer owned equipment throughout the entire business transaction; incoming, in process, and in completion.
- Maintaining updated knowledge of company products and services along with specific customer criteria.
- Track order status for REMAN sale orders.
- Communicate to internal department and customer regarding quality control issues.
- Communicate with internal partners: operations, sales support, logistics, and sales support.
- Advocate for the customer as well as establish true root cause of customer issues where possible.
- Resolve any issues and problems faced by customers and deal with complaints to maintain trust.
- Ensure regular reports of progress and forecasts to internal and external stakeholders using key account metrics.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field.
- 5 years transformer industry knowledge required.
- 5 years using CRM systems, required.
- 5 years of experience in business development, sales, and/or marketing preferred.
- Syspro, LTM, INV experience preferred.
- Knowledge and/or experience in the utility field is preferred
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful business strategies
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Able to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Proficient with MS Office
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
