Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling services to students dealing with emotional, behavioral, or social challenges.
- Develop and implement individualized plans to address student needs.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to create a supportive environment for students.
- Conduct assessments and provide intervention for students in crisis or distress.
- Promote social-emotional learning and mental health awareness within the school community.
- Assist in the development of IEPs and contribute to the creation of social-emotional goals.
- Refer students and families to community resources and mental health services as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and provide regular updates to parents and school staff on student progress.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) or related field.
- Valid Michigan School Social Worker Certification required.
- Experience working in a school setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of child and adolescent development, mental health, and crisis intervention.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
