Special Education Teacher – Life Skills (Full-Time)
We are currently seeking a Special Education Teacher – Life Skills for a full-time contract position starting ASAP through May 23rd, with the potential for extension into the next school year. This role involves working one-on-one with a 17-year-old non-verbal autistic student, helping to build social skills, confidence, and community engagement.
Position Details:
- Schedule: 37.5 hours per week (8:30 AM – 2:00 PM)
- Caseload: 1 student, non-verbal, life skills focus
- Responsibilities:
- Support student in developing social interactions and peer relationships
- Assist in fostering independence and engagement in school activities
- Collaborate with a dedicated para/EA who works with the student full-time
Requirements:
- NM Special Education License
- Life skills experience required
- Experience working with non-verbal students
