Job Responsibilities:
- Provide virtual speech and language therapy to students with communication disorders (articulation, fluency, language, voice, etc.).
- Conduct assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and track student progress.
- Work with students of various ages (K-12) to improve speech, language, and communication skills.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to support students educational and developmental goals.
- Develop and implement effective therapy strategies that are engaging and appropriate for virtual learning.
- Provide guidance to parents and educators on techniques to support speech and language development outside of therapy sessions.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of Individualized Education Plans for students requiring special services.
- Maintain accurate records of therapy sessions, student progress, and communication with families and school teams.
- Offer crisis intervention as needed for students with speech-related challenges that impact their emotional or academic well-being.
Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP).
- ASHA certification (CCC-SLP) preferred.
- Experience working with K-12 students in a school setting.
- Strong knowledge of speech and language development, communication disorders, and therapy techniques.
- Experience with virtual therapy platforms and tools is highly preferred.
- Ability to develop individualized therapy plans and adjust strategies to meet the diverse needs of students in a remote setting.
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively with students, parents, and educators in a virtual environment.
