Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our Maintenance Department as a Stockroom Clerk. The Stockroom Clerk will be responsible for managing the inventory of parts, tools, and supplies used by the maintenance team. The role requires ensuring that stock levels are maintained, materials are properly stored and accessible, and the department has the necessary items to carry out maintenance tasks efficiently. This individual will play a key role in keeping the maintenance department well-supplied and running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain accurate stock levels of all maintenance materials and tools. Perform regular stock counts and update inventory records to ensure accuracy.
- Receiving and Storing Supplies: Receive deliveries of materials, tools, and parts. Ensure items are properly logged, labeled, and stored in designated locations in the stockroom.
- Issuing Materials: Issue materials and tools to maintenance staff based on work orders and requests. Track usage and ensure items are returned or replenished in a timely manner.
- Stock Organization: Maintain an organized and clean stockroom. Ensure that materials are easy to locate, accessible, and stored in a safe manner.
- Ordering Supplies: Track inventory levels and proactively order replacement parts, tools, and materials as needed, ensuring minimal disruption to the maintenance team’s operations.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of stock movement, inventory levels, and purchase orders. Prepare reports on inventory status and communicate any discrepancies or shortages to the supervisor.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety guidelines and ensure that the stockroom and inventory handling practices meet safety standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with maintenance supervisors, technicians, and other departments to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of materials and supplies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Proven experience in stockroom or inventory management (experience in a maintenance or industrial environment is a plus).
- Basic knowledge of maintenance tools and parts.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to operate inventory management software or similar systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift and carry materials (up to 50 lbs).
- Forklift certification (preferred but not required).
Work Environment:
This position typically works in a warehouse or stockroom environment with occasional exposure to outdoor conditions depending on facility layout. PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is required when handling certain materials.
