The DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Management) Project Administrator plays a crucial role in coordinating and organizing project activities related to data center infrastructure and DCIM deployments within Sunbird Client Services team. The DCIM Project Admin ensures smooth project execution, adherence to timelines, and effective communication among team members. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Ability to identify DCIM scope of work in a defined project plan to articulate and track to an internal and client project team the necessary steps required to complete a statement of work.
    • Weekly status updates to clients on key deliverables, milestones, and billing against statement of work.
    • Organize client teams and program manage Sunbird and client owned deliverables.
    • Develop and enhance documentation to enrich a customer s experience.
    • Facilitate timely resolution of customers issues by logging and maintaining resolution status in Sunbird Support Portal.
  • Project Coordination
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
    • Create detailed project plans, including task breakdowns, timelines, and resource allocation.
    • Monitor project progress, identify bottlenecks, and proactively address issues.
    • Ensure alignment with project goals and stakeholder expectations.
  • Documentation Management:
    • Maintain accurate project documentation, including project charters, schedules, meeting minutes, and status reports.
    • Organize and archive project files, ensuring easy access for team members.
    • Facilitate knowledge sharing by documenting best practices and lessons learned.
  • Communication and Reporting:
    • Act as a central point of contact for project-related inquiries.
    • Schedule project meetings providing clear agendas and follow-up actions.
    • Regularly update stakeholders on project status.
  • Risk Analysis and Mitigation:
    • Identify potential risks and develop risk mitigation plans.
    • Monitor project risks throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Escalate critical issues to senior management as needed.
  • Budget and Resource Management:
    • Assist in budget planning and tracking.
    • Coordinate resource allocation, ensuring optimal utilization.
    • Collaborate with procurement teams for equipment and vendor management.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards in a timely fashion.
    • Conduct regular quality checks and address any deviations.
    • Implement continuous improvement initiatives.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associates/Bachelor s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
  • One to three years experience providing customer support or project management tracking.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex customer issues.
  • Excellent customer-facing project management, analysis, troubleshooting, and technical skills.
  • Demonstrated basic technical knowledge of or ability to quickly learn:
    • Data center IT components and interconnections (servers, Blades/Blade Chassis, network switches, Rack PDUs, etc.)
    • Data center networks and protocols (TCP/IP, VLANs, SNMP, Modbus)
    • Structured cabling components and concepts (patch panels, fiber, copper)
    • Data center facilities components (UPS, PDUs, single and 3 Phase Power)
    • Windows 10 / Windows 11 (including UAC)
    • MS Excel xls/csv file creation
    • Editing and working with AutoCAD and Visio drawings
    • Data center surveys and audits
  • Ability to work flexible hours with travel up to 50% required, some globally.
  • Accountability and the ability to adapt/multi-task/manage changing priorities.
  • Self-motivated, ability to learn and apply new skills quickly.
  • Good oral/written communication and interpersonal skills required.

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

  • Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Outlook, and Visio
  • Data Center Certifications (i.e. DCI, DCIM, )
  • Project Management certification
