Our client is seeking a Controls Engineering Manager to join our growing team in Indianapolis, Indiana. This is an on-site position requiring up to 25% travel.
Summary :
As the Controls Engineering Manager , you will lead a dedicated team of Controls and Electrical Engineers . Your role will involve validating cost accuracy in system concepts during the quotation phase and ensuring that all company and customer projects adhere to established timelines and final budget constraints. You will guide the design, development, testing, and commissioning of control systems for our projects, steering the team through technical complexities to ensure innovative solutions align with customer needs and company standards.
Responsibilities :
- Lead the controls engineering team across all project phases, ensuring the production of necessary documentation such as Bill of Materials (BOMs), control schematics, software programs, and operational manuals
- Foster a collaborative environment with other engineering disciplines, as well as the mechanical and electrical build teams, to deliver projects that meet our quality benchmarks within agreed timelines
- Interface with the sales department to outline control specifications for new projects
- Direct the strategic planning of the controls engineering department to achieve corporate objectives in new product design, development, and the refinement of existing product lines
- Mentor the team in controls engineering best practices, establish project priorities, and conduct design reviews along with regular performance evaluations
- Ensure that control system designs comply with engineering principles, company standards, customer specifications, and industry norms
- Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the team and projects
