Sunburst Memorials has been in business since 1917 and is a part of the St. Cloud Industrial Products, Inc. (SCIPI) family of companies. Sunburst serves families throughout the Midwest with retail operations in MN, MI, IA, NE, and SD. This position is based out of our Tawas City, MI location; however, this role will require regular travel to cemeteries and various customer locations throughout the state of Michigan. Tawas Bay is located on the shores of Saginaw Bay and Lake Huron north of Bay City, MI. Rich in natural resources, Tawas Bay is known for its forest lands and wildlife.
Position Description:
The Date Cutter plays a vital role being responsible for carving memorials in cemeteries with final death dates. This position requires traveling in a company vehicle with portable stencil plotting and sandblasting equipment to carve final dates, inscriptions, etc. The ability to solve problems in the field with a high attention to detail is required. Essential Functions
- Route Planning & Work Scheduling: plan daily routes and schedule work to ensure timely completion as specified in work orders
- Communication & Relationship Management: maintain relationships and schedule work by communicating with sales team, sexton, supervisor, and customers via phone and email
- Stone Sandblasting & ERP Management: print stencils using design software and mobile plotting machine, sandblast and inspect stone while updating ERP with job status and photos
- Vehicle & Equipment Maintenance: complete maintenance checklist, schedule and perform regular maintenance and repairs on company vehicles and equipment, ensuring compliance with DOT inspection guidelines

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

- Ability to read a level and tape measure
Required Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
Preferred Experience:
- Prior experience in the stone industry
