What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dispensary Agent position at Sunburst Pharm?

Sunburst Pharm is a cannabis dispensary seeking a couple of energetic dispensary agents to join our staff. Located in Cambridge, Maryland, this dispensary is a multi-functional business that acts as a cannabis dispensary, accessory and device retail store.

As a Sunburst Pharm Dispensary Agent, you act as the first point of contact for our cannabis consumers. You’ll be tasked with check-in at reception, listening to each consumer’s unique needs, assisting them in selecting cannabis that best suits their needs and completing their purchase. The ideal candidate will do this in a positive, patient service-oriented manner in compliance with state regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers as they enter the reception area and sales room
  • Verify patients are registered within the state patient database
  • Educate patients on Maryland cannabis laws
  • Earn the trust of our consumers – learn their specific cannabis needs then help direct them to products and ingestion methods that work for them
  • Accurately prepare and record all sales transactions within the Point-of-Sale system
  • Maintain a professional and safe environment for patients and fellow team members
  • Demonstrate the ability to follow all COMAR compliance regulations and Sunburst Pharm operating procedures
  • Identify potential issues and work with senior management to correct them
  • Work to continually educate yourself on medical cannabis and expand your knowledge of cannabis products and treatment methods
  • Pass all required medical cannabis training programs
  • Assist Inventory Management with reconciling and stocking dispensary products
  • Assist Inventory Management with trimming, packaging and labeling new products
  • Assist in cleaning the dispensary and organizing displays
  • Answers patient questions in-person, over-the-phone and online
  • Perform light clerical duties including accurate filing of patient information, inventory and general records while maintaining strict patient confidentiality

Desired Qualifications:

  • At least 21 years of age
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Associate's Degree or higher strongly encouraged
  • Must pass all required background checks
  • Must obtain a state-issued medical cannabis card
  • Must be able to work all hours of operation: 5 days a week between the hours of 7AM-9PM.
  • Experience in the legal cannabis industry a plus, but not required
  • 2 years customer service experience in a 1:1 client-focused sales environment
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Experience working with digital Point-of-Sale systems preferred
  • High proficiency working in a Windows PC environment, Microsoft Word and PC-based Web Browsers
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Ability to handle multiple duties in a fast-paced industry
  • Ability to work independently and as a team, using strong analytical, prioritization and problem solving skills to tackle a variety of tasks
  • Ability to stand for 7-8 hours at a time
  • Ability to lift, carry and balance up to 30 pounds
  • A strong desire to take the initiative and follow through on tasks with minimal supervision.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.50 - $20.00 per hour
