What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deductions Analyst position at Suncast Hiring Team?
Responsibilities:
The following duties are considered essential to this position. Other responsibilities may be assigned.
Evaluate validity of compliance, allowance and audit claims, and credit or deny as indicated
Work with Sales to collect invalid allowance deductions
Monitor all allowances in portfolio to ensure they are set-up correctly and are accruing at sufficient levels to cover current and future deductions
Audit customer allowance claims that exceed amount accrued, reviewing contracts and working with Sales to increase funding as necessary
Review activity in the Suspense GL and charge to the appropriate allowances
Provide Sales with customer/buying group reporting and periodic allowance-related credit memos
Assist Sales with deduction data/reporting
Monitor trends to identify compliance failures; work with appropriate parties to correct and prevent future deductions
Proactively dispute compliance fines prior to deduction when possible, ensuring review within the dispute window
Keep contracts, emails and other documents well organized for future reference in disputes
Keep ongoing documentation of processes, including customer specific data
Other projects and duties as assigned by the AR Manager and/or Sr Deductions Analyst
Maintain positive internal and external relationships
Qualifications:

High School Diploma required
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or business-related field preferred
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an Accounts Receivable dispute resolution experience working with vendor portals and Electronic Data Interface systems (EDI)
Must have strong Financial and Accounting Analytical skills
Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization
Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively
Strong aptitude for numbers with the ability to calculate amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram and schedule form.
Proficiency in programs with MS Office (Word, Excel and IBM Notes)
Cognos, High Radius and AS400 experience is a plus
Intermediate ability in spreadsheet use. Ability to set up a spreadsheet, construct simple formulas and generate simple graphs.

The Anticipated Salary Range for This Position: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 Annual
