Position Summary:

The Family Wellness Coordinator Team Leader is responsible for coordinating and guiding a team of Family Wellness Coordinators in their efforts to promote and enhance the well-being of youth and their families. This position involves providing guidance, support, and coordination to ensure the effective implementation of family-focused events and programming, initiatives, and activities that foster positive relationships, communication, social connectedness and community engagement. The Team Leader plays a critical role in organizing, coordinating and aligning the team’s actions.

  

Job Duties:

 

  • Team Leadership: Provide strong leadership to the Family Wellness Coordinator team, promoting a collaborative and supportive work environment. Set clear goals, expectations, and priorities, and ensure effective communication within the team.  Is responsible for ensuring all activities and events are well published, well documented, well run, and well-coordinated.

 

  • Program Development and Coordination: Becomes a knowledge expert on the CDC Resource for Action on Suicide Prevention, utilizing the framework to guide the team in developing and implementing youth and family-focused activities and initiatives that promote social wellness. Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of activities, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and community needs.

 

  • Provide guidance, and support to Family Wellness Coordinators. Direct and approve event materials, offer mentorship, and address any challenges or concerns that arise. Foster professional growth and development within the team.

 

  • Collaboration and Partnerships: Serves as a liaison on the Youth and Family subcommittee of the Zero Suicide Partners of Pinellas. Foster strong relationships and collaborations with the Suncoast Center staff and community organizations, local agencies, and stakeholders. Seek opportunities for partnerships and leverage resources to enhance the impact of family social wellness initiatives.

 

  • Resource Development: Facilitate resource development by coordinating with the team to and the Zero Suicide Partners of Pinellas communications specialist and curate materials, toolkits, and educational resources for families. Ensure resources are relevant, accessible, and tailored to meet diverse family needs.

 

  • Evaluation and Reporting: Reports to the Oversee the monitoring and evaluation of family social wellness programs and initiatives. Analyze data, measure outcomes, and generate reports to assess effectiveness, identify areas for improvement, and communicate impact to stakeholders.

 

  • Accept Direction from Leadership: Follow the Leadership of Total Family Strategy Manager, providing regular updates on the team's progress, challenges, and successes. Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making processes related to family wellness initiatives.


  • Minimum Qualifications:

     

    Education:  A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Family Studies, Education or any related field.

     

    Licensure:  License not required


    Experience:  Must be able to assist families struggling with multiple stressors and child welfare issues. Understanding of community resources and social support development is required. 

     

    • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others towards achieving common goals.
    • Effective interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships with team members, stakeholders, and community partners.
    • Experience in program development, implementation, and evaluation, with a focus on family wellness and community engagement.
    • Familiarity with community resources, support services, and networks available to families.
    • Empathy, patience, and the ability to work with diverse populations and address sensitive issues.
    • Strong organizational and project management skills to oversee multiple initiatives and ensure their successful implementation.
    • Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting for monitoring and evaluation purposes.
    • Knowledge of budget management principles and experience in financial oversight.


    • Continued Negative Drug Screening 

     

    Continued Clear Criminal Background Check 

     

    Continued Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record, Valid Insurance, Valid Registration, and Personal Motor Vehicle for daily use.

     

    Clear Criminal Background Check (must be in compliance with Florida Laws and Administrative Codes with fingerprinting and determined to be of good moral character).

     

    Working Conditions:  Must have valid Florida driver's license and a driving record that is acceptable to Suncoast Center; must meet minimum levels of personal automobile liability insurance; requires both indoor and outdoor work with outreach to off-site locations.  Exposure to extreme heat and humidity during the summer months.  Schedule may be irregular and will include evenings and weekends. Work is primarily off site in community locations.
