POSITION TITLE: DENTIST - PEDIATRIC
FLSA: EXEMPT
Salary is commensurate with experience
REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
· Florida Dental License
· Graduate of a CODA accredited Advanced Education in Pediatric Dentistry Program
· Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry
· Florida Pediatric Conscious Sedation Permit preferred
· Establish and maintain privileges at affiliated hospitals
· Current DEA Certificate
· Teaching Experience is desirable
· BLS, PALS certification required; ACLS certification preferred
· Ability to deliver high quality, pediatric dental care in both a clinical and hospital setting
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
· Supervising and providing direct patient care in the clinical setting and hospital operating room according to established CODA Requirements
· Supervision of pediatric conscious sedation cases
· Facilitation of resident didactic sessions including case presentations, literature review, etc.
· Serve as a mentor for pediatric dental residents by overseeing their clinical education, research, community service activities, etc.
· After-hour call coverage with Suncoast and affiliated hospitals to oversee residents providing consultations and emergency care
· Faculty coverage at satellite pediatric dental clinics
· Perform in a timely manner the administrative duties associated with the practice of dentistry, including administrative duties set forth by Suncoast CHC policies.
· Maintain continuing dental education according to the requirements set forth by Florida Board of Dentistry and the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
· Maintain a satisfactory level or better performance for annual evaluations, while maintaining licensure and appropriate credentialing.
· Maintenance of appropriate documentation via attestation of supervision and countersignature of specified documents in the medical record (i.e., history and physical exams, admitting notes, discharge summaries and operative notes) and/or documentation that the attending has seen the patient and concurs with the diagnosis and treatment plan and/or modifies such with additions, corrections or exceptions.
· Compliance with the Quality Improvement program of Suncoast including Relias Training, employee documentation, etc.
· Other duties as assigned.
