Responsibilities
- Enhance, maintain, and administer current physical and virtual server infrastructure systems
- Take ownership of the physical infrastructure of the data center, ensuring that monitoring, reporting, and management systems are up-to-date and functioning
- Configure and maintain Windows/Unix/Linux servers and processes, including monitoring system health and performance to ensure high levels of availability and security
- Maintain the health of the data center through regular audits, capacity planning, and ensuring the physical security and reliability of servers and networking hardware
- Install, configure, and test operating systems, application software, and system management tools, and manage systems lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems
- Collaborate with other professionals to ensure high-quality deliverables within organization guidelines, policies, and procedures
- Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end to end
- Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and update documentation
- Document and store all server/storage topology of all networks, including the environment
- Lead the development and maintenance of operational runbooks for routine maintenance tasks, ensuring consistent execution of critical processes
- Create, update, and manage runbooks for disaster recovery, backup checks, server provisioning, and other key operational tasks related to data center management
- Ensure all systems are backed up in a way that meets business RTO/RPO and that processes are tested periodically
- Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to all levels of the IT team
- Serve as a technical consultant for technology purchases
- Recommend new technology to improve performance and work closely with vendors to ensure successful installation and maintenance of projects
- Participate in the design and implementation of disaster recovery plans for all networks, servers, switches, and software related to the systems
- Perform scheduled maintenance and patching outside normal business hours as needed
- Participate in the compensated Information Technology Division’s regular on-call rotation
- Maintain knowledge and understanding of current trends, laws, and issues affecting the area of expertise
- Attend educational events to increase professional knowledge
- Complete annual compliance and info security training to understand employees' role in maintaining effective compliance and security programs
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field (A comparable combination of work experience and training may be substituted for education requirements)
- 5 years of experience in datacenter/cloud environments, knowledge of clustering, load balancing, and high availability configuration
- Certifications such as VMware vSphere, Microsoft Exchange, or Zerto are required
- Experience with managing HP Blades and VMware environments
- Strong background in disaster recovery planning and implementation, particularly with VMware and Zerto
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Exchange/O365 hybrid administration
- Familiarity with Rubrik backup systems and DHCP/DNS/IPAM solutions
- Experience with Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) systems and operational runbooks
- Ability to prioritize tasks by effectively managing competing and changing priorities to meet deadlines
- Accurate, detail-oriented, and organized with task management
- Ability to analyze and resolve difficult and often complex problems or situations
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with members, staff, vendors, and government regulators
- Strong knowledge and understanding of credit union products, services, policies, and procedures
- Strong knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance
- Strong knowledge and understanding of credit union computer systems and software applications required to perform job duties
