Reporting to the Team Lead of Pipelines, you will be responsible for all aspects of measurements of incoming and outgoing crude oil at your work stations and the protection of our pipelines and pipelines right-of-ways.

We are looking for a Pipeline Technician to join our team in Guernsey, Wyoming. You will be dedicated to the safety of people and the environment and ensure that policies and procedures are followed by operations team, contractors and carriers. You will ensure equipment is operated in a safe, efficient manner, according to established safe work practices, policies and guidelines.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • A valid driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to Suncor
  • A strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to operate of our pipeline systems and perform equipment maintenance
  • Previous experience with mechanical and electrical equipment maintenance is preferred
  • Previous experience reading various electrical/ electronic drawings (schematics, P&ID, Ladder Logic, one-lines)
  • Strong problem solving, decision-making and analytical skills

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the movement of crude petroleum products
  • Maintain a high level of technical knowledge regarding communications and control equipment, digital and analog circuitry, pumps, motors, valves and medium voltage equipment
  • Complete daily meter readings, tank gauging, and sampling
  • Ensure completion of SAP preventative maintenance notifications are completed on time and time has been entered
  • Respond to One Call tickets and accurately identify and locate the line per Suncor procedures
  • Maintain a high-level of tidiness and organization
  • Become familiar with applicable and relevant industry codes and standards and Pipeline Operations Procedures, Policies and Practices
  • Address and report hazardous situations, and ensure compliance with our safety and environmental policies and procedures
  • Complete required regulatory DOT reports
  • Contribute positively to team culture, with a focus on the safety of people and the environment

Location and Key Details:

  • You will work out of Guernsey Station, 206 Tank Farm Road in Guernsey, Wyoming *Candidates must live within commuting distance or be willing to relocate*
  • Hours of work are a 40-hour work week (4x10), Monday to Thursday OR Tuesday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
  • You may be required to perform some heavy lifting as well as use ladders
  • Working conditions are a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor (year round) that can include hydrocarbon products, chemicals, noise, tanks, pumps, and pipelines
  • This role is safety sensitive

Salary and Compensation Details:

  • $75,000 - $83,000 annual salary and an annual incentive (bonus) program
