Our U.S. Legal Team, based in Denver, is seeking a talented corporate lawyer (4 to 10 yrs of experience) to join us in a diverse and dynamic role with a transactional focus and opportunities for additional exposure to other legal areas in serving as a trusted legal and commercial advisor for one of North America's leading energy companies.
Suncor Energy (U.S.A.) Inc. (Suncor USA) is an indirect, wholly-owned subsidiary of Suncor Energy Inc., a leading integrated energy company based in Calgary, Canada, publicly traded on the NYSE and TSX under stock symbol SU. Suncor USA owns and operates the Commerce City refinery, the only petroleum refinery in Colorado and one of the largest in the Rocky Mountain region. The U.S. downstream business also includes a crude oil pipeline business and a retail business.
Minimum Requirements :
- Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school
- Licensed to practice law in the State of Colorado in good standing
- 4 to 10 years practicing law with a transactional focus (law firm experience preferred)
- High character, integrity, and record of performance. Values diversity and inclusion
- Excellent written work product and research, analytical and oral negotiation and advocacy skills
- High emotional intelligence with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams to drive successful outcomes
- Agile and creative thinker with ability to synthesize wide range of principles and issues
- Desire to learn new or emerging areas of the law with opportunity to develop. Flexible and adaptable to handling broad range of matters
- Demonstrated community involvement and diversity of outside interests
- Must be legally authorized to work in the USA for the duration of your employment
