Position Summary:
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Counter Sales and Service Manager to join our team at Suncrest Gardens. This role will oversee the customer experience within the Garden Center Group, ensuring excellent service and adherence to Suncrest's policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for customer service, a strong retail background, and excellent leadership skills to inspire and manage a dynamic team.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Master the operations of the POS system and cashier registers, including key-holder responsibilities.
- Assist the Director of Operations with hiring and training staff for reporting positions as needed.
- Conduct training for cashier and carry-out staff, including orientation and on-boarding to ensure proper staffing and performance.
- Provide a friendly and upbeat presence in the Garden Center, engaging with customers and assisting them throughout their shopping experience.
- Collaborate with the buying manager and garden center associates to properly display and label products, ensuring inventories are current and accurate.
- Complete daily/weekly inventory checks for hard goods and chemicals, including reordering, stocking, and storing products.
- Assist the Director of Operations in preparing for weekly/quarterly staff meetings and updating inventory spreadsheets.
- Follow all guidelines and regulations outlined in the Suncrest Gardens employee handbook.
- Work closely with the Administrative Assistant to prepare weekly work schedules for staff.
- Provide personalized, one-on-one assistance to customers, offering expert guidance in areas such as plant selection, garden design, and creative table setting for events or parties. Utilize a strong visual design sense and attention to detail to help customers bring their vision to life, ensuring their garden center shopping experience is both enjoyable and tailored to their specific needs.
- 2-3 years of experience in an upscale retail environment with a strong customer service focus.
- 1-3 years of visual design sales experience.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with IT systems and software.
- Previous managerial experience is preferred.
