Position Overview:
Suncrest Gardens is seeking a skilled Lawn Care Applicator to join our Maintenance Division. The ideal candidate will play a key role in providing high-quality lawn care and maintenance services, with responsibilities including chemical applications, turf assessments, and crew leadership. As a Lawn Care Applicator, you will be responsible for maintaining beautiful, healthy lawns for our residential, commercial, and HOA clients while ensuring safety and adherence to best practices.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Apply fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, and other lawn treatments according to established treatment plans and client needs. Ensure proper chemical handling and safe application practices.
- Inspect lawns for issues such as disease, pests, nutrient deficiencies, and weeds. Make recommendations for treatment plans based on assessment findings.
- Safely and effectively, lawn care equipment such as sprayers, spreaders, mowers, edgers, and string trimmers. Ensure that all equipment is maintained, secure, and functioning properly.
- Maintain accurate records of all applications, including product types, application rates, and treated areas. Submit reports in a timely manner.
- Ensure that all team members are trained on best practices, safety protocols, and job expectations.
- Communicate clearly with clients regarding treatment schedules, lawn concerns, and follow-up questions. Provide excellent customer service and build lasting relationships.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper personal protective equipment (PPE) usage during chemical applications. Stay informed of safety guidelines related to pesticide handling.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of company vehicles and trailers. Ensure all tools and equipment are secure and functional.
- Input and track the daily hours for all crew members using LMN (Landscape Management Network).
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid Driver’s License with minimal moving violations.
- 1-3 years of experience as a Landscape Maintenance Technician.
- Pesticide Applicator License required (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong knowledge of turfgrass management, including plant ID, diseases, pests, and nutrient requirements.
- Strong attention to detail when applying chemicals and adhering to product instructions.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and performing physical tasks such as lifting and pushing equipment.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-oriented attitude.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to lead a team and keep accurate records.
