We are seeking a motivated and skilled Hygiene Assistant to join our dedicated dental team. Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care & Comfort: Welcome and prepare patients for hygiene treatments, ensuring their comfort and addressing any concerns they may have.
- Assist with Hygiene Procedures: Support the dental hygienist in providing preventive care, including preparing instruments and materials, and assisting with procedures such as cleanings, scaling, and fluoride treatments.
- Instrument Sterilization & Safety: Follow proper sterilization procedures to ensure all instruments are cleaned and sanitized in compliance with health regulations.
- Patient Education & Aftercare: Provide patients with oral health education, including tips on brushing, flossing, and maintaining good dental hygiene at home. Assist in post-treatment care instructions.
- Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including treatment notes and updates on oral health progress.
- Scheduling & Office Support: Assist in scheduling patient appointments and ensuring the hygiene room is clean, organized, and well-stocked for daily operations.
- Regulated Tasks: Assist with tasks as allowed by local regulations and perform basic duties in accordance with hygiene protocols.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience in a dental or hygiene assistant role in a clinical setting is preferred.
- Certification: Coronel polishing certificate preferred, or must be willing to obtain within 90 days or employment.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Familiarity with dental hygiene procedures and treatments.
- Knowledge of sterilization methods, infection control protocols, and dental equipment.
- Experience with dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) is highly preferred.
- Clinical Competence: Ability to assist with routine hygiene tasks under the direction of the dental hygienist.
- Communication & Patient Care: Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate and reassure patients effectively.
- Organization & Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and an eye for detail to ensure all tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
- Team-Oriented: Ability to work effectively as part of a team while providing high-quality patient care.
