Job Summary

Medical Billing Specialist for a Well-Established Primary Care Physicians Office, centrally located in Las Vegas (Easily accessible to the 215 Freeway and Henderson)

Required Qualifications / Skills / Experience :

• Experienced full-cycle medical billing and coding practices.
• Experienced in Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial payer guidelines, including but not limited to Quality Care Measurements and reporting.
• Experienced in CPT / ICD-10 coding, and diagnosis match-ups.
• Experienced in Accounts Reconciliations, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable.
• Ability to read, comprehend and explain insurance and explanation of benefits.
• Customer Service experience required.
• Knowledge of billing, data entry, and basic computer functions, including but limited to EHR.
• The ability to operate basic office equipment.
• Data entry and 10 key experience.

Preferred Qualifications :

• Primary care and assisted living billing preferred.
• Nextgen billing system experience preferred.
• Knowledge of authorizations, referrals, front office preferred.

Primary Responsibilities :

• Medical billing, coding, and collection.
• Submits claims electronically or manually.
• Researches and resolves monthly aging reports, corrective claims, appeals, resubmits, using proactive follow-up for timely resolution.
• Accesses clearing house, carriers, and other websites to analyze and reconcile accounts.
• Sends and / or provides any needed supporting documentation to the insurance companies.
• Assist with patient statements and collections
• Calls and receives calls from insurance companies to determine status and compare payments on accounts.
• Calls patients to assist in coordination of benefits and other tasks when necessary.
• Documents and tracks actions taken on accounts in computer and tickler file.
• Maintains proficiency in medical terminology.
• Educates patients on billing information, payments due, and refers to collections when needed.
• Provides superior customer service skills with internal and external clients and staff.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills in person and by phone.
• Must be well organized and detail oriented.
• Accounts payable and Accounts Receivable and / or coverage, or whenever skills are required.

This Medical Billing post is an essential position in the healthcare setting for the ongoing revenue and billing cycle. We seek a motivated team-player and problem-solver who will gainfully remain focused and productive while completing repetitive tasks and changing priorities. Billing assignments will be expected to be performed successfully.
