SUMMARY
Supervise operations to maintain Sundance Mountain Resort Grounds and Landscaping. Areas maintained include but are not limited to: Resort building structures/exteriors, mountain operation areas, lodging partner properties, parking lots, common spaces, and all areas that are owned/maintained by Sundance Mountain Resort.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:
General:
- Create a positive experience for all Sundance Mountain Resort Guests
- Be knowledgeable of all Sundance Mountain Resort amenities
- Execute tasks directed by the Landscaping and Grounds Manager
- Lead and direct a team to execute daily/weekly tasks
- Conduct pre and post shift meetings with team members
- Conduct and lead daily department and safety training
- Oversee frontline operations and task management
- Oversee organization/cleanliness of all workspaces, vehicles, and office spaces.
- Coordinate task fulfillment with other Sundance Departments when needed.
- Submit daily shift work log reports to Landscaping and Grounds Manager.
- Conduct daily area inspections
- Submit next day plan reports daily
- Manage daily labor to meet budget requirements
- Maintain and manage all refuse, waste, and recycling around resort grounds
- Maintain Landscaping and Grounds to the desired 4 star level
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment
- Operate and maintain all Landscaping and Grounds Equipment
- Drive company vehicles for department needs
- Record detailed logs for labor and material tracking
- Work with Landscaping and Grounds Manager in interviewing and hiring seasonal and full-time help
Spring/Summer:
- Maintain irrigation systems
- Maintain all turf/lawn areas
- Maintain pathway cleanliness and functionality
- Noxious and other invasive weed abatement
- Planting, pruning, and trimming of trees and shrubs
- Maintain all hanging and potted flowerpots
- Inspect and monitor department projects
- Lead efforts in the installation of new landscaping and enhancement projects
- Proper use of power tools (electric and fueled) to fulfill landscaping and grounds tasks
- Use of riding and walk-behind lawn mowers and other small equipment
- Proper use of hand tools to fulfill landscaping and grounds tasks
- Leading the proper execution of the following (included but not limited to): digging, trenching, climbing ladders, safe lifting of objects over 100lbs, trimming, tree removal, brush removal, rock wall building and maintenance, plumbing, irrigation maintenance and installation, weeding, raking, leaf blowing, weed eating, lawn mowing, sweeping, loading, unloading, filling propane tanks, fueling vehicles and other equipment, litter pick up, trash replacement and cleaning, mechanical work, problem solving, etc.
Winter:
- Oversee snow and ice removal for all pedestrian walkways, access points, and all useable guest and resort operation areas
- Maintain pathways and walkways for guest safety
- Maintain and monitor proper use and supply of ice melt for the resort
- Properly log all snow/ice removal work performed by team
- Manage daily operations for part-time snow removal attendants
- Coordinate snow and ice removal with other departments
- Daily property inspections for snow, ice, and other weather threats to guest safety
- Snow removal with heavy equipment
- Proper use and maintenance of all snow removal equipment
- Documentation of all snow and ice removal
QUALIFICATIONS
- To do this job successfully, the individual must be able to complete each key task properly. Reasonable accommodations can be made for individuals with disabilities to help them perform the essential duties.
- Minimum of 3-5 year related experience or training
- Experience with irrigation, general landscape maintenance, lawn care, tree and shrub pruning, and snow removal required. Skills: operating outdoor power equipment and power tools, small engine equipment, heavy equipment, and utility trailers.
- Operate 2-way radios for communication with other staff.
- Must possess a valid U.S. Drivers' License in good standing as determined by Sundance's Insurance Company guidelines.
- This job involves frequent exposure to moving parts, occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions, weather, extreme heat, extreme cold, electrical shock risk, and vibration. The noise level is usually moderate, and the work pace can vary.
