Job Title: SUMMER MOUNTAIN GROOMING
Department: Mountain Operations
Reports To: Summer Mountain Grooming Supervisor
Rate of Pay: $19.00/hour
Shift: Full-time, seasonal, Day shifts, 8:00 - 4:30 Monday - Friday
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly
Summary: Responsible for maintaining hiking and biking trails, enhancing ski terrain, and assisting in mountain restoration and weed control. Ensures safe and efficient grooming operations to improve winter safety and guest experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain chainsaws, brush cutters, and other equipment to clear vegetation and hazards.
- Perform manual labor, including trail rebuilding, pruning, and erosion control.
- Assist in weed control and native plant restoration.
- Communicate trail work and closures effectively.
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions and on steep terrain.
- Lift up to 100 lbs and meet driving insurance requirements.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; mechanical skills preferred.
- Experience with chainsaws and power tools a plus.
- Physically fit for hiking and strenuous outdoor labor.
- Must be 18 years old.
Work Environment:
- Exposure to weather extremes, moving machinery, and hazardous conditions.
- Regular use of chainsaws and other power tools.
