Shift : Day shift : 8 am - 4 pm; Night Shift : 4 pm - 9pm, Full Time

MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK WEEKENDS & HOLIDAYS

FLSA Status : Non-Exempt

SUMMARY : Works in a utility capacity, by transferring from one task to another, monitoring and maintaining terrain features in the freestyle park and other locations where applicable. Act as a host in regard to crowd supervision, safety awareness, education, Freestyle Terrain etiquette, and guest relations. Ensure a professional appearance at all times of park and staff through attention to detail and proper, effective training.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Represent Terrain Park interests to resort management which includes providing technical input for park design and scope for feature construction to match resort philosophy.
• Communicate through Sr. Director of Mtn Ops to provide budgeting processes, purchases and monthly P&L.
• Work closely with the Dir. of Ski Patrol on all aspects of risk, safety, and aesthetics in the terrain park.
• Attend industry training and communicate industry needs to resort management for Cutter's Camp sessions, virtual learning sessions and renew procedures based on risk management.
• Conduct the hiring process of park crew and develop or maintain the training program.
• Oversee revisions, updates and changes to Terrain Park Manual to meet industry standards.
• Quality assurance and archiving of all documentation and reports.
• Develop and maintain a culture of professionalism in Terrain Park by utilizing safety, risk management, staff accountability, uniform and grooming, park aesthetics and mountain flow, signage, guest interactions, working effectively with all departments and protecting equipment and assets.
• Oversee terrain preparation and modifications during summer months and oversee terrain park feature assets for maintenance repair, new orders and the design and fabrication.
• Weekly updates to Dir. of Mtn Ops / Patrol Director such as daily park inspection, post incident reports, placement log and map, report changes, accident investigations and labor needs.
• Create and maintain staff scheduling.
• Address and speak to liability issues to groups such as mountain management and the Accident Review Committee.
• Report all monthly incident statistics to Accident Review Committee.
• Oversee weekly design, operate Snowcat to move features, operate Snowcat to build new features, coordinate with Mountain Grooming Manager to ensure needed equipment is available, oversee post-build safety inspections on park features.
• Perform seasonal reviews.
• Over post-season shutdown process and summer storage.
• Oversee all terrain park staff.
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Complete all applicable paperwork for the above responsibilities and submit to HR in a timely manner.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside winter weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to cold, wet and / or humid conditions for much of the day. The employee will sometimes work with moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate .
