Position Description
Sundial Energy is seeking an Originations Associate to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, results-oriented, have a positive attitude and bias for action. The position is primarily an office role, with potential for occasional travel as needed. The position will report to Sundial’s Director of Business Development.

Responsibilities
- Support Sundial’s originations function through the screening and structuring of new development projects using GIS databases and systems, utility hosting capacity maps, local zoning codes and other resources
- Prepare client-facing marketing materials and site control agreements to secure solar and energy storage development sites in the Midwest and Northeast US
- Manage administrative legal processes and tasks related to site control agreements
- Create and execute landowner outreach strategies to generate new development opportunities
- Collaborate with project development, engineering, construction, finance and legal to prepare internal, client and investor-facing project updates and reporting
- Maintain a deep understanding of the regulatory environment, policy initiatives and competitive dynamics in the regions in which Sundial operates
- Support the Business Development team in evaluating new markets and growth opportunities
- Other duties as requested and/or determined
Qualifications
- Preferably located in Minneapolis, MN
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in finance, economics, environmental science, urban planning, real estate law, engineering or similar fields
- 1-3 years of relevant work experience in the renewable energy, project finance or commercial real estate sector is preferred
- Knowledge of NYISO, PJM and MISO electricity markets is desired
- Track record of excelling in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced and dynamic organization
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and high attention to details
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and GIS
