What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Intern position at Sundvold Financial?
Internship Description:
The Sundvold Financial Intern is a vital component in the day-to-day production of the firm. An intern will gain a great understanding of the overall workings of a financial planning business. Ample opportunities will be provided to contribute to the success and improvement of the company. The bulk of time will be spent preparing for client meetings -- this is a multi-step process, with the largest components of the process being updating account values, preparing meeting documents, performing return calculations, etc. Other duties include mutual fund research, confirming appointments, special projects, and anything else to aid the advisors/client manager. The intern plays an integral role within the financial planning department. Client meetings literally could not happen without the intern; therefore, a great deal of responsibility is placed on his or her shoulders to execute and perform. With this responsibility comes an exciting and rewarding internship.
Initially, the internship should be somewhat overwhelming. The environment and planning methods are unique and will take some time to fully understand. The intern will begin by shadowing personnel in the financial planning department to get a sense of how business is conducted. After shadowing the advisors, the new intern will work with a senior intern to become assimilated into the system. Together they will go over processes and concentrate on the intern’s development and understanding of job responsibilities. As time progresses, the intern will become more comfortable with duties and productivity will increase. Throughout the internship, the intern will be encouraged to come up with ideas and projects to refine and develop the firm’s strategy and overall internship experience.
There will be 2 Internship positions available over the next 4 months.
