Position Overview: The Land Acquisition Specialist will play a crucial role in identifying, negotiating, and securing land for utility-scale solar projects throughout North Carolina. This position requires a strong understanding of real estate, regulatory requirements, and the solar energy industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Land Identification and Assessment:
- Research and identify potential land parcels suitable for utility-scale solar development.
- Evaluate land for suitability based on location, size, topography, and proximity to infrastructure.
- Negotiation and Acquisition:
- Engage with landowners to negotiate land leases or purchases for solar projects.
- Develop and maintain relationships with property owners, real estate agents, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare and present offers, counteroffers, and agreements to secure land acquisitions.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding land use and solar development.
- Obtain necessary permits and approvals for land use and environmental considerations.
- Market Analysis:
- Conduct market research to understand land values, trends, and opportunities in North Carolina.
- Stay updated on zoning changes, land use policies, and industry developments.
- Project Coordination:
- Collaborate with internal teams including project managers, engineers, and legal advisors to ensure smooth land acquisition processes.

Qualifications:

- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in land acquisition, real estate, or a related field, with a focus on utility-scale projects or renewable energy preferred.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of land acquisition processes, zoning laws, and environmental regulations in North Carolina.
