Sunflower Bank, N.A. is looking for an energetic, highly motivated individual to fill the position of a full-time Risk Analyst I at our Santa Fe, NM location.
The Risk Analyst I is an entry level, developmental position within the Risk Department. The Risk Analyst I position will support the bank’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) processes at Sunflower Bank.
Primary Responsibilities
- Participate in the completion of the enterprise-wide risk assessment process and periodic reviews.
- Identify control gaps and provide recommendations for remediation.
- Collect and aggregate data from assessments and reviews.
- Prepare reports for the various risk committees across the bank.
- Support the bank's third party/vendor risk program and conduct ongoing analysis, facilitation, and process coordination.
- Support vendor relationship owners in developing and maintaining knowledge of vendor risk management program policies, requirements, and processes.
- Perform the job in accordance with applicable industry laws and regulations as well as the policies and procedures established by the company.
- Responsible for upholding Fair and Responsible Banking practices and Code of Ethics and Conduct guidelines.
- Understand and participate in the Bank’s Community Reinvestment Act program.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education / Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, management, economics, math, data science, computer science, or information technology preferred, but not required.
- Prior banking experience preferred working in lending, accounting, operations, or internal auditing.
- The willingness and ability to learn new, complex concepts quickly.
- Strong oral and written communication skills. Will be required to talk with representatives across the institution and write conclusions from reviews.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to quickly grasp business needs and objectives.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work on several projects at the same time.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Excel, PowerPoint, and Access, preferred.
