The Head of Compliance is responsible for our Compliance Management System, reporting out regularly to our board and serving as our BSA officer. This role interacts with employees, management, attorneys, bank partner staff, and regulators to, solve problems and achieve goals. This position performs regulatory research, as requested, and provides interpretation and clarification of regulatory changes. Works in collaboration with management to formulate and maintain compliance-related policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain proficient knowledge of relevant loan servicing and lending laws/regulations
- Manage and enhance our Compliance Management System including: policies and procedures, internal controls, change control processes and training
- Facilitate implementation of new and amended loan servicing and lending regulations
- Carry out ongoing evaluation of applicable rules and regulations, internal policies, and procedures, and make appropriate changes or improvements
- Work with the partner loan servicing/subservicing and specialty lending departments to ensure compliance with all applicable lending laws and regulations
- Liaise with legal and regulatory bodies on compliance-related issues
- Ensure that the internal departments comply with existing and developing federal and state laws and regulations
- Provide input into the continuous improvement of Sungage’s compliance trainings
- Prepare reports and materials as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, or Business Administration, or a related field
- 5-10 years of compliance experience within banking, lending, loan servicing
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations
- Ability to prioritize, maintain flexibility in a fast-paced environment, and meet or exceed deadlines
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Comfort working in a dynamic environment and ability to adapt to changing processes
- Positive “can-do” attitude
- Experience with cloud-based software (Salesforce, Google Docs) a plus
- Interest in solar/sustainability a plus
- COVID- 19 Vaccinated
