Material Planner

Full Job Description

The Materials Planner is responsible for ensuring raw materials, components and subassemblies are delivered on time to support production needs. Ensure inventory activities are a key driver of quality, cost efficiency and current best practice within the organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION

1. Manage inventory to the lowest level without negatively impacting production

2. Manage customer demand and ensure the integrity of the supplier releases

3. Review the SAP tools to ensure on-time delivery from suppliers and to customers

4. Maintain a consistent flow of materials to support the production schedule

5. Maintain planning parameters in SAP system to ensure release integrity

6. Monitor revision levels and ensure coordinated and running changes are managed properly to avoid obsolescence

7. Manage engineering changes by effectively communicating the date of the change to the manufacturing cell. Ensure proper timing of the engineering change to avert obsolescence

8. Manage the premium freight and chargeback system

9. Manage the supplier rating system

10. Review daily system generated reports for maintaining inventory accuracy and take corrective action

11. Representative for all APQP meetings to ensure single point communications to plant functional groups

12. Support and promote full SAP and Customer system utilization

13. Ensure plant teams, staff and associates are accurately trained to expectations outlined in the change process

14. Process owner for all document and data coordination and controls, ensuring compliance with TS 16949 requirements

15. Ensure BOM accuracy

Coordinate activities in support of flawless product launch

Education and/or Experience

· Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Material Planning or closely related field

· Minimum two years’ experience in the automotive industry

· Minimum three years’ experience in planning and scheduling

· Good math, language and reading skills with attention to detail along with basic computer skills

· SAP ERP Operating System experience preferred

· Forklift certification preferred, not required

• High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others; promote a safe work environment
• Follow instructions for keeping records
• Ability to work overtime and work flexible schedules/shifts

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $58,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
