Job Title : Inventory Control Analyst with IT Responsibilities
Reports to : Inventory Control Manager
FLSA : Exempt
Approved by : JOB SUMMARY :
The Inventory Control Analyst with IT responsibilities in a 3PL (Third Party Logistics) environment will be an essential position in implementing and monitoring procedures to ensure that the proper inventory is in all warehouse locations. The position will assist management in the development and implementation of several formal customer specific programs to audit and improve all areas related to inventory movement for integrity and accuracy. This individual will assist operations with their inventory control procedures. The individual will also have IT responsibilities supporting the hardware, software, and network operations and maintenance. This will be in conjunction with the corporate IT team. This position requires being tasked with interacting will all departments to help resolve IT related issues and provide answers in a timely manner. This individual interacts directly with databases and software to troubleshoot problems, identify sources of the problems and offer solutions and involved in the creation of new software and work closely with our team to analyze all aspects of the software and make suggestions throughout the development phase to help avoid issues in the final product.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
The inventory control analyst position is responsible for :
Develop, implement, and monitor all key functions related to customer specific inventory transactions to assure that they are accurate and timely.
Create new processes, document and train warehouse associates.
Perform thorough research and document inventory discrepancies using all available resources to identify root causes and supply possible solutions.
Work with key personnel to effectively implement process improvements to operational procedures in an effort to proactively optimize overall location and item level accuracy and maintain the highest possible productivity levels.
Coordinate the efforts of the cycle counts in an effort to identify and correct discrepancies on items at the location level as needed.
Analyze inventory trends - determine corrective actions, communications and training that are required to correct and / or improve and implement.
IT responsibilities include but are not limited to :
Install, configure, and troubleshoot software and hardware
Write custom reports as needed
Document and maintain inventory of all IT assets in the facility
Test, evaluate, and make decisions related to new technologies
Participate in team meetings to provide relevant insight
Serve as the first point of contact for technical issues including on-call after hours
Escalate unresolved issues to the next level of support
Identify and suggest improvements related to IT
Ensure all issues are properly logged into the IT tracking system
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :
None
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED :
- Working knowledge and understanding of WMS concepts.
- Advanced MS Excel, MS Word, and WMS experiences.
- Experience with report writing database tools a definite plus.
- Proven problem solving abilities and analytical skills.
- Effective organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through skills.
- Must have the ability to work independently.
- Must have excellent mathematical skills.
- Ability to prioritize work.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Maintain a safe work environment.
- Constant bending, stooping, lifting, walking and standing.
- Must be able to lift 30 to 75 lbs.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment.

- Certifications are preferred, but not required
- Working knowledge and expertise with a variety of software, and applications.
- Analytical skills to study problems and identify solutions.
- General familiarity with warehousing / distribution operations
- Team-oriented attitude to help others with technical problems
- Strong interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills
- Tech savvy with working knowledge of office products
- Good understanding of warehouse management systems, such as SAP, Infor
- Ability to diagnose and resolve basic software related issues
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Proven work experience in a similar role
- An ability to stick to strict deadlines
- Familiarity with concepts such as Process Improvement
- Ability to build vendor relationships
- Ability to train and support users on new updates / enhancements as needed
EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE :
High school graduate, some college preferred but not required. Three to five years leadership experience in a 3PL environment working in a warehouse environment.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATION :
Possess or have the ability to become forklift certified.
Valid Driver’s License or equivalent.
Hazardous Material Handling Certification or Training preferred
LANGUAGE SKILLS :
Ability to read and interpret documents, including protocols, standard operating procedures, customer orders, and pick tickets. Written and oral communication skills in English are required.
REASONING ABILITY :
Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

WORK ENVIRONMENT :
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The performance of this position requires exposure to the warehouse areas where certain areas require the use of PPE (personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and foot protection with, at times, distracting noise levels. Warehouse environment with extreme temperatures. Cool in winter and warm in summer. Warehouse noise from power equipment such as forklifts and noise from powered conveyor system.
