Lead-Acid Quality Control Supervisor
As a Quality Controller, you will play a pivotal role in promoting a culture of quality and compliance at Sunlight Batteries USA. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of Quality Control functions, making you an essential bridge between production and management. You will be instrumental in ensuring the lead-acid products at Sunlight Batteries USA are compliant with all Sunlight Batteries USA requirements and performing all Quality Control procedures. Your role will involve providing quality testing on manufactured products, maintaining the quality on finished inventory, and completing SAP transactions. You'll be expected to participate in a positive safe workplace culture and training. Additionally, you will collaborate with other departments to address quality issues and maintain accurate quality records through SAP. This position will require you to be adept at critical thinking, communication, and follow-through, with exceptional attention to detail-oriented projects.
Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:
- Comply with all production guidelines and technical specifications
- Complete all assigned inspections (formation department quality inspections, material boosting/charging, capacity testing) in a timely manner
- Use provided tooling to gather all inspection data (rulers, calipers, gauges, volt meters, density meters, ASPro data collector)
- Communicate with production to ensure products that fail to meet quality specifications are removed
- Complete quality lab testing as assigned, including collecting and preparing various samples for chemical analysis
- Complete daily departmental audits as assigned
- Complete daily SAP entries
- Complete all required checks through the production management system
- Handle hazardous materials as required during tasks
- Communicate and work with the Quality Supervisor and other employees (Engineering, production operators and Managers, and R&D) for root cause analysis when a non-conformity is found
- Participate in yearly strategic supplier audits as assigned
- Regularly communicate with the Quality Supervisor regarding non-conformities found, challenges, etc.
- Regularly monitor all ongoing work
- Perform all administrative duties required like timecard approvals, reporting, paperwork, etc.
- Complete al other training (including hazardous materials training), tasks, or projects that are needed as assigned
- Provide support for all quality communications across the plant as assigned
- Participate in the maintenance of all ISO documentation by suggesting any updates needed in the quality control guidelines and communicate those to the Quality Supervisor
- Follow all safety guidelines to ensure a safe workplace
Job Requirements:
- 2 years of experience in a similar role and/or responsibilities (bachelor’s degree preferred)
- Demonstrated knowledge of quality practices and principles
- Root cause analysis and 5-why experience
- AQL certification (preferred or willingness to acquire)
- MS Office experience (excel, word, etc.)
- SAP experience
- Auditing experience (preferred)
- ISO experience (preferred)
- Strong team player with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to an evolving work environment
- Ability to read and understand technical blueprint drawings
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
