Sunline Landscapes is a leading company in the landscape architecture industry, known for creating visually stunning and sustainable outdoor spaces. We are seeking a Design Department Manager – Landscape Architect to lead our talented team. This role is pivotal in shaping our design strategy, fostering client relationships, and delivering high-quality projects that balance aesthetic appeal with ecological responsibility. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication, organizational, and leadership skills, and will be responsible for overseeing the planning, design, and execution of complex landscape projects.
Normal Work Schedule: This position is expected to work at minimum the following schedule – Monday through Friday, 8am – 5pm, some occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand and sometimes overtime may be necessary.
Location and Travel: This job operates in an office environment. Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
Responsibilities
- Lead project planning and design, ensuring alignment with client goals and regulatory standards.
- Oversee quality control and project oversight from concept to completion.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, offering compelling solutions for their landscape visions.
- Mentor and manage a team of designers and architects, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Conduct site analysis, client presentations, and technical drawing reviews.
- Collaborate with builders and clients throughout the design and production process.
- Maintain CRM and job costing to achieve set goals and metrics.
- Participate in site visits and meetings to communicate project information and vision.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture or related field.
- Licensed Landscape Architect in the State of Utah.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in landscape design/architecture.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, with basic understanding of Structure Studios, Lumion, and Sketchup.
- Strong leadership and team management experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of horticultural best practices and modern landscape design technology.
- Fluency in English; bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
